The Bestseller She Wrote

Why I chose to read this book: I participated in a short story writing contest for #TOIWriteIndia which was based on a certain passage from this book. Hence I was curious to see where , when and how the passage fit in the story.
What I liked about this book : Definitely the pace of the story and to a certain extent the story itself. The narrative is very crisp and clear. One important aspect, I have observed about the author is that his stories always have a tendency to impart knowledge to the readers. If his previous book, ‘ God Is a Gamer’ delivered information on bitcoins and the world of gaming and it’s marketing, his current story gives details on the efforts that go into publication and publicity/marketing of a book. The author also explains the necessity of marketing of a book.
What I did not like in the book : Definitely, it has to be the culbestsellermination of the story. The end falls short of expectations set by the story itself. The story turned out to be another usual tale of man being forgiven for infidelity , with the other woman being labelled as a homewrecker. There are also other minor weakpoints in the story, for example , a random doctor putting his profession into jeopardy just to save the marriage of his patient . Another example is that of the iPhone passcode. The probability of two people having the same pass code at the same point of time is relatively less, considering the fact that iPhone asks us to change pass code once every quarter and does not allow the repeated usage of the pass code.

Conclusion : This book definitely should be in the ‘to read’ list , for its fast paced narrative and story telling and for the story itself barring the ending.
